Tygerberg Children's Choir is seeking passionate and dedicated voices to join our ranks! With a proud history spanning over 52 years, TCC offers exceptional musical training and performance opportunities for children. Imagine your child blossoming under the guidance of expert instructors, their voice maturing and their musicality taking flight. At TCC, professional music and singing training goes hand-in-hand with the thrill of performing on prestigious national and international stages. The experience is more than just notes and melodies; it's about building lifelong friendships, fostering teamwork, and nurturing confidence within a supportive environment.
Membership in Tygerberg Children's Choir is a commitment to continuous development. To ensure long-term growth and maintain a strong core group, choir membership is expected to continue until the end of Grade 9. Rehearsals are held during school terms, offering dedicated time for focused learning and musical exploration. Tuesdays and Saturdays become synonymous with the joy of music, with rehearsals taking place from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Tuesdays and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturdays at Goodwood Park Primary School. Additionally, there's a dedicated long-day practice session every first Saturday of the month, allowing for deeper exploration of the repertoire which will be from 9:00 AM to 4:00PM.
We understand the importance of financial considerations. A monthly parent contribution of R520 (R1,560 per term) helps cover administrative costs, sheet music, coaching, transportation to performances, and more. Parents may also be asked to assist with transportation to local performances, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility.Upon acceptance into the choir, a one-time joining fee of R1,500 is payable. There's also a one-time rental fee of R2,100 which covers the use of two choir uniforms (excluding shoes and socks). This fee also includes a choir sweater, T-shirt, and backpack, ensuring your child looks the part while they sing their hearts out.
